How it works

1) Grant permissions

We request access to step count (Apple Health) and Screen Time (Family Controls) so we can score the duel.

2) See today’s winner

Open the app anytime to see who’s winning today — Steps or Screens — plus your running totals.

3) Track your streak

History shows your results over time so you can spot patterns and keep yourself honest.

Designed for real life
This isn’t a perfect-science wellness app. It’s a tiny daily nudge — the kind you’ll actually stick with.

Privacy & data

On-device by default

Your Health and Screen Time data is used to calculate your daily results. We’re built to be useful without collecting personal data.

  • No account required
  • No selling data
  • No “social feed”

Family Controls & Screen Time

Steps vs Screens uses Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time APIs to read your daily screen time totals after you grant permission. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings.

Note: Depending on your setup, Screen Time access may require additional approval (for example, if Screen Time is managed by a parent/guardian).

FAQ

Do you track me or sell my data?
No. The goal is to keep things simple and private. The app uses permissions you grant (steps + screen time) to score the daily duel.
Do I need to open the app for it to work?
You’ll get the best experience by opening it daily, but your steps and screen time are recorded by iOS. Steps vs Screens reads those totals when you open the app (and may refresh in the background where supported).
What devices are supported?
iPhone. You’ll need Apple Health available and Screen Time enabled to use all features.
What permissions do you request?
Step count from Apple Health, and Screen Time totals via Family Controls / Screen Time APIs. Nothing else required.
